Thuraya Satellite Phones
Thuraya's handheld satellite telephones use geosynchronous satellites to provide Voice, Internet/Data, Fax, short
messaging (SMS), and GPRS.
Remote location determination services via (GPS) are also possible. Satellite coverage is now available in hundreds
of countries spanning a large region of northern, central and western Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the
Indian Subcontinent. Certain models have
GSM cellular capability.
Solar Charger
includes 4.4 Watt panel, carry case with belly strap, and internal battery. Belly bag has
compartment for phone and DC charger.

The smallest Thuraya phone available is the SO-2510 which weighs only 4.6 oz and offers
polyphonic ring tones, a 65,000-color screen, and GPS. The standard SO-2510 kit includes the phone, battery, AC
charger with international plug kit, earbud, and a USB data cable.
Options include: DC auto charger, solar charger,
watertight Pelican impact case, and a
FDU-3500 Fixed Docking Unit with external antenna set which allows you to
use the Thuraya from inside a building for voice, data, or G3 fax communications.

* Note: The phrase "any destination" refers to calls made to any public switched telephone (PSTN)
number available to Thuraya subscribers, excluding calls to satellite phone networks or data calls which are at different
rates. The units on a prepaid Scratch Card must be used during their validity period or they are lost. The rate
mentioned above is for PSTN voice calls on EASY SuperSIMs only and other SIM cards have different rates. Outfitter
Satellite sells 80-unit and 160-unit prepaid Scratch Cards, and each “unit” corresponds to $1 of usage on your EASY
SuperSIM prepaid account. Reloads are available online. The rates discussed here apply to Thuraya-satellite-mode
calls only and do not refer to GSM cellular mode calls (available on certain phone models). The EASY SuperSIM
cannot be used for data, fax, or outbound GSM cellular calls, and these services require a standard postpaid SIM card
account.
