Fixed Docking Unit (FDU) for Thuraya Handheld Phones
A Fixed Docking Unit (FDU) lets you dock your phone and use an external permanent-mount antenna that is located outside of the building. The phone charges while docked. Different types of FDU exist with various antenna cable lengths and features.

To use a Thuraya phone in satellite mode, you must have a direct line of sight with the satellite. To facilitate this requirement from
inside a building, Outfitter Satellite offers a variety of solutions for the SO-2510, SG-2520, HNS-7100 and HNS-7101 Thuraya
satellite phones.
The FDU-3500 lets you dock your SO-2510 or SG-2520 while using
an external antenna (25-meter cable).
The FDU-3500 includes a built-in privacy handset. It has an RJ-11 port for a conventional
analog phone or standard Group 3 fax.
All standard satellite-based* services such as voice,
fax and data become available indoors.
The physical mating of the Thuraya SO-2510 phone with the
FDU-3500 is straightforward, and the handheld
satellite mobile phone’s battery is charged while being docked.
