These solar panels are designed to mount on technical backpacks or tents. The solar panel is built into a flat softcase which houses a 72 Watt-Hour rechargeable battery pack and various output cable accessories. The battery has 12, 16, and 19 volt and USB output settings. On the 12 volt setting, up to 4A current output is available.

The solar panel can recharge its 72-Watt-Hour battery pack in roughly 15 hours of full sunlight. The battery pack can recharge all of the handheld satellite phones we offer 3 to 4 times before needing to be recharged. It is also ideal for charging an iPad or other small electronic equipment. The kit includes a variety of output adapters to accommodate many common devices including a cigarette lighter output cable, a cable with 10 different barrel plugs, a USB cable with a micro-USB and a mini-USB adapter. Outfitter Satellite has tested the 10-Watt Solar Charging System with the following satellite phones and terminals:
  • Iridium 9575(via its USB port or its DC car charger)
  • Iridium GO! (via its USB port or its DC car charger)
  • Iridium 9555 (via its DC car charger)
  • Iridium 9505A (via its DC car charger)
  • Optimizer HotSpot
  • IsatPhone PRO (via the USB port or its DC car charger)
  • IsatPhone 2 (via the USB port or its DC car charger)
  • Thuraya XT (via USB or DC car charger)
  • Thuraya XT-DUAL (via USB or DC car charger)
  • Thuraya SatSleeve (via USB or DC car charger)
  • All Inmarsat BGAN models sold by Outfitter Satellite using DC car charger
  • USB-rechargeablesmartphones and tablets including iPhones, Androids,...

NOTE: The solar panel is built into a thin-line soft case with a flexible buckle and strap system for attaching it to your back pack or tent. The internal pouch of the soft case can be used to carry any one of the above named satellite phones or other small electronics like iPhones. Since the interior of the soft case can become hot when it is in direct sunlight, Outfitter Satellite recommends that the zipper to the internal pouch of the soft case be left partially open to allow air flow. This prevents excessive heat exposure to the 72-Watt-Hour battery pack and what ever other satellite phones or electronics are stowed inside.
