The IC-SAT100 by ICOM is a new highly ruggedized lightweight product designed specifically for Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT). With Iridium PTT, you can hear and communicate with other active Talk Group members instantaneously, anywhere on the planet, independent of terrestrial radio towers. The IC-SAT100 user can switch amongst up to 15 different Talk Groups. The IC-SAT100 is fully compatible with the Iridium Extreme PTT satellite phone and the iMatrix interoperability system. It can operate in challenging temperatures from -22°F to +140°F (-30°C to +60°C) and has an extraordinarily long 14.5 hour battery life. The IC-SAT100's amazing IP67 ingress protection rating means it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes without failing. It also meets the 810G military standard. It is a truly all-weather communications device. The IC-SAT100 has one important limitation: it does not have an Iridium telephony mode so if you need to make phone calls or send texts to public switched telephone numbers or cellular numbers, we suggest the Iridium Extreme PTT satellite phone.
On-the-Fly Web-Based Administrative Controls: Each subscriber organization has access to a PTT Command Center web portal that allows the subscriber organization's administrator to quickly and easily adjust the boundaries of any of the subscriber organization's Talk Groups by simply placing circles, rectangles, and other controls on a map. A Talk Group can be formed from as many as 10 contiguous or non-contiguous areas that can be in different states or even different countries. The administrator can adjust the boundaries of a Talk Group on the fly and can control which IC-SAT100 handsets have membership in each Talk Group. The system is very easy to use and administrate.
