Rent an Inmarsat GX Fly-Away

Description: The Hornet 65 Fly-Away Kit is a Ka-band portable VSAT fly-away terminal with PIM-assisted manual pointing capability. It ships in two hard cases to protect it during transport. The Global Express coverage area is shown below, though terrain and local vertical obstructions can block coverage in some areas shown as covered. Data speeds up to 4 Mbps (download) by 2 Mbps (upload) are available. The Hornet 65 can be operated on AC wall power or 12 Volt DC vehicle power. The PIM module of the Hornet 65 has ethernet RJ-45 ports. For more information, please call us or contact us online.
Short-Term Use: Outfitter Satellite has a limited number of used Hornet 65 Fly-Away Kits available with extended buy-back terms. This means you will have the right to sell the equipment back to us after a period as short as 2 weeks or as long as 3 months, for the original purchase price less $350 for each day that you owned it. This buy-back offer is contingent on the equipment being in good and operable condition with all original parts as determined by Outfitter Satellite after inspection. Please call for pricing.
6-Day Prepaid Vouchers: The Hornet 65 Fly-Away Kit is purchased without active service. Service must be purchased through a separate agreement and is available with different data speeds (see below). The customer does not need to continually maintain service during the entire period that the customer has possession of the terminal. Service can be purchased for periods as short as 6-days in the form of prepaid vouchers and service will deactivate automatically after a 6-day service period elapses. Additional 6-day periods can be purchased as needed.
- 4 Mbps (up) x 2 Mbps (down): $4200* for a 6-day period
- 2 Mbps (up) x 1 Mbps (down): $2900* for a 6-day period
- 1 Mbps (up) x 1 Mbps (down): $2000* for a 6-day period

Data Speeds: All the service plans listed here provide unlimited-use of internet access with no throughput caps. The data rates will never be throttled back regardless of the amount of data transfer used. The data speeds shown are the Maximum Information Rate (MIR) for the plan, defined as the highest data rate possible with no network congestion and a clear sky. On a clear day, the actual data speed experienced will typically vary between the MIR (fastest data speed) and the Committed Information Rate (CIR) for the plan, where the MIR:CIR ratio is 4:1. Heavy clouds or precipitation or wind can reduce the data speed that is experienced. Occasional service outages can occur.
Firewalls & Wi-Fi Routers: We do not support firewall and Wi-Fi router equipment which is supplied by the customer.
Training Requirements: Before using this terminal, the customer or the customer's designated Authorized User must be certified by Outfitter Satellite on the Hornet 65 terminal. We offer free training in Nashville, Tennessee for one user upon request. The training is hands on and normally takes about 3 hours.
Recommendation to Carry a Satellite Phone: Usually, the Inmarsat GX terminal will be deployed in a location without cellular service. For this reason, we strongly encouraged you to rent or own an active Iridium satellite phone so that you can contact us for technical support or to request activation of Inmarsat GX service to the terminal.
* In addition to the fees shown above, the customer is responsible for any applicable taxes, USF fees and other fees. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that service is available in the area of intended use. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that terrain and other vertical obstructions at the location of intended use will not prevent a direct line of sight between the Inmarsat GX terminal and the satellite prior to using the terminal or activating service. The elevation and azimuth of the Inmarsat satellite can be determined based on the latitude and longitude of the location of intended use. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that he or she has the right to use the Inmarsat terminal at the location of intended use and to obey all local laws, rules, and regulations. The Inmarsat GX service fees shown on this page provide 6-days of service (as measured in UTC time). The customer understands that after Outfitter Satellite receives the request to activate service from the customer, up to 12 hours may be necessary to process the request. Other terms and conditions apply. See service agreement for complete details.
