The Optimizer Hotspot includes an AC power supply that requires 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz and outputs 12 VDC. That means you have a problem if you are using the Optimizer Hotspot in a location without conventional AC power.
One great solution is our 10-Watt Solar Charging System. This kit includes a 72 Watt-Hour laptop battery pack and a solar panel built onto a thin-line softcase. The system is designed to be lashed to a back pack so you can charge the laptop battery pack while you walk down the trail. The laptop battery pack has a USB output for recharging most satellite phones and smart phones. It has a high power DC output cable with a 10-piece adapter set for recharging many popular laptops brands. The DC output has a selectable voltage switch that lets you choose between 12 VDC, 16 VDC, and 19 VDC.
To power the Optimizer Hotspot, just select 12 VDC output and connect the DC output cable to the Optimizer Hotspot as discussed in the user instructions.
