Built-in GPS for Simpler Installation

Unlike many fixed VHF radios that rely on an external GPS source, the M424G features an integrated GPS receiver that automatically provides position and time information for DSC functions. The radio can also use an external GPS input if preferred, offering greater flexibility for more advanced onboard electronics systems.

With GPS information always available, DSC distress alerts can immediately transmit your vessel's location to nearby vessels and emergency services, helping speed up rescue response when every second counts.

Active Noise Cancelling & Powerful 10W Audio

Whether you're cruising at speed or operating in rough weather, clear communication is essential. The M424G incorporates Active Noise Cancelling technology that significantly reduces background engine and wind noise on both transmitted and received audio, helping conversations remain clear in challenging conditions.

A built-in 10W audio amplifier drives an optional external PA speaker, enabling the radio to function as both a public address system and electronic foghorn. This added functionality makes the M424G particularly valuable for larger vessels and commercial applications.

Built for Life on the Water

Engineered specifically for marine use, the M424G carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, allowing it to withstand accidental immersion in up to one metre of water for 30 minutes. ICOM's AquaQuake™ speaker draining technology helps remove water from the speaker after exposure to heavy spray or rain, restoring clear audio quickly.

Its high-contrast white backlit LCD, laser-cut keypad and intuitive rotary control make operation straightforward in both bright daylight and low-light conditions.

The M424G integrates easily with compatible onboard electronics using NMEA 0183 connectivity and supports optional accessories including the HM-195 COMMANDMIC™, allowing full control of the radio from a second station or flybridge.
