The ICOM IC-SAT100 is a dedicated Iridium Push-to-Talk satellite radio designed for instant group communications anywhere on Earth. Built for demanding environments, it combines global Iridium coverage with a powerful 1500mW front-mounted speaker, intuitive controls, integrated GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.

The IC-SAT100 was developed specifically for Push-to-Talk communications. While many satellite devices add PTT as an additional feature, the IC-SAT100 is designed from the ground up for fast, reliable group communications. The result is a more intuitive user experience, louder audio performance, dedicated emergency controls and additional operational features for field teams.

Comparison of IC-SAT100 to Iridium Extreme PTT

The IC-SAT100 is a PTT-only radio and does not support private phone calls to fixed or cellular numbers. By comparison, the Iridium Extreme PTT can make private phone calls, but only after switching from PTT mode to telephony mode.

That said, the IC-SAT100 was purpose built for Push-to-Talk use and offers several clear advantages:

• The IC-SAT100 has a field-replaceable flexible antenna. If the antenna of the Iridium Extreme PTT is broken, it must be returned to the factory.
• The IC-SAT100 can record up to 8 minutes of conversation, allowing users in noisy environments to replay recent incoming transmissions.
• The IC-SAT100 has a bright orange emergency button that instantly transmits an alarm in the Priority Talk Group.
• The IC-SAT100 handset can simultaneously send a 100-character text message to other IC-SAT100 handsets on the current Talk Group.
• Android phones connected via Bluetooth to an IC-SAT100 can participate in Texting-over-PTT using a dedicated app.
