Iridium Certus terminals provide 3 voice lines and Standard IP internet access speeds up to 352 kbps up / 704 kbps down. Certus provides global on-the-move coverage even in mountainous areas. Different terminal models and service plans are available for land and marine applications.
Iridium Certus 350 broadband terminals are available for land vehicle, fixed site and maritime applications. Capabilities include:
Global Standard IP internet access as fast as 352 kbps up / 704 kbps down
Three (3) voice lines with superb voice quality.
256 kbps Streaming IP
Low Latency Data
Because Iridium Certus uses low earth orbit (LEO) satellites data communications have much lower latency compared to data transmitted over Inmarsat BGAN or FleetBroadband.
Global Coverage even in Mountainous Areas
Iridium's LEO satellites provide coverage over the entire globe including mountainous areas and the polar regions which are challenging for other satellite services.
Superb Voice Quality
The Iridium Certus 350 Thales MissionLINK and Thales VesselLINK have 3 phone lines, each of which can be a Standard postpaid line, a Captains PIN-protected postpaid line, or a Crew line that uses prepaid scratch cards. Optional US Local Access Numbers are available for a small monthly fee. You can use a standard POTS phone or any Android smartphone via WiFi (Android must be configured with the Zoiper app). Another choice of phone is the Thales SureLINK IP Phone. This is a ruggedized IP 65 ingress protection rated phone with noise cancellation technology designed for high-noise environments. It also has a dedicated distress button for emergency calls and sending GPS locations.
The unique, overlapping architecture of the Iridium network provides availability, redundancy, and reach no others can match. All over the world, Iridium products are trusted by individuals and business alike for essential communication. Government agencies, airlines safety organizations, and maritime operators are just a small sample of the industries that rely on Iridium for its dependability.
*Legacy OpenPort Terminals: Iridium OpenPort terminals are no longer manufactured and have been succeeded by Iridium Certus terminals like the Thales MissionLINK and Thales VesselLINK. The legacy Iridium Pilot OpenPort terminal offered 128 kbps data speed and three voice lines. Iridium OpenPort terminals can still be activated, and Outfitter Satellite offers a flexible array of OpenPort service plans with various data and voice bundles.
