Description
Monitoring equipment and collecting important data becomes more challenging when assets are operating miles from the nearest cellular tower. The Globalstar RM200M helps solve that problem by bringing two-way satellite communication directly into custom IoT devices.
Designed for integration into connected equipment and monitoring systems, this compact satellite module uses Globalstar's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) network to transmit and receive data in locations where traditional cellular connectivity may not be available.
Built for Remote Monitoring and Tracking
The RM200M includes integrated GPS positioning and a three-axis accelerometer, allowing connected devices to capture location and movement information.
Bluetooth 5.4 Low Energy connectivity also supports up to 10 compatible sensor nodes, making it possible to gather information from multiple sensors and communicate that data through a satellite-connected system.
Potential applications include monitoring equipment at remote job sites, tracking assets across transportation routes, collecting environmental sensor readings and monitoring infrastructure in isolated locations.
Compact Design, Advanced Capabilities
Despite its small size, the RM200M incorporates useful features for developing reliable IoT solutions. Low power consumption helps support battery-operated designs, while Globalstar's Realm Edge Applications Platform enables developers to customize how devices collect, process and communicate data.
The module also supports zero-touch provisioning and Realm Cloud device management, helping simplify configuration and ongoing administration across connected device deployments.
With its combination of satellite connectivity, positioning, sensor support and flexible integration options, the Globalstar RM200M gives manufacturers and developers a practical starting point for building connected solutions that need to operate beyond cellular coverage.
