The SmartOne C comes equipped with four AAA batteries, providing power for up to 750 days of operation. For users who prefer a permanent power connection, the optional cable allows you to hard-wire the SmartOne C to a 12 V battery system on your boat or other asset. If the external power source is ever interrupted, the device will automatically switch to its internal AAA batteries to maintain normal tracking and reporting.
When using the 8–22 V external input cable, ensure that the voltage supplied to the Line Power + wire remains between 8.0 VDC and 22 VDC. Applying less than 8 VDC may cause the regulator to malfunction, while exceeding 22 VDC could result in regulator damage.
